AGENDA DATE: June 7, 2016
ACTION REQUESTED: Request Boards approval to set a public hearing for updating
the fee schedule for Solid Waste.
BACKGROUND: The last review of the Solid Waste fee schedule was done in
April of 2015. Waste Management of Ellensburg has notified
Kittitas County that they are exercising their right to increase
the fees they charge the county by the CPI which is allowed
under their contract.
In addition the cost to process refrigerators and tires has
increased and is reflected in the proposed new fee schedule.
INTERACTION: Solid Waste
RECOMMENDATION: Recommend the Boards approval to set a public hearing to
discuss the proposed resolution updating Solid Waste Fees.
