RE: Kittitas County Weed District #4 Board Vacancy
The Kittitas County Noxious Weed Control Board would like to recommend the appointment of
Douglas Gibb for the remainder of the term of the vacant position on the Kittitas County Weed
District #4 Board, which will end March, 2017.
Doug is a long time landowner and farmer in Weed District #4 and the Kittitas County Noxious
Weed Control Board feels that he is well qualified to represent the landowners of the area on the
Weed District #4 Board.

To The Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners,
There is currently a vacancy on the Kittitas County Weed District #4 Board of Directors but a
qualified landowner within the district, Douglas Gibb, has volunteered to serve as a director on
the board.
The directors of Kittitas County Weed District #4 respectfully request that the Kittitas County
Commissioners, as described in RCW 17.04.070, appoint Douglas Gibb to fill the vacancy on the
Weed District #4 Board for the unexpired term of office, which is due to expire March 7, 2017.
Chapter 17.04 RCW WEED DISTRICTS
Section 17.04.070 Meetings—Qualifications of electors and directors—Elections—Officers—Bonds—
Terms of office—Vacancies—Rules and regulations.
Paragraph 7 - All directors shall hold office for the term for which they are elected, and until their
successors are elected and qualified. In case of a vacancy occurring in the office of any director, the county
commissioners of the county in which such district is located shall appoint a qualified person to fill the
vacancy for the unexpired term.
