ACTION REQUESTED:
Request Boards approval for Chair to sign a Professional service agreement with McKinstry to preform
Maintenance on the HVAC system to improve air quality in the Jail and Administration area of the
correction facility.
BACKGROUND:
Over the past two years we have been working to find a solution to the increasing temperatures in the
Administration side of the Correction Facility. The County went out for a Energy Service company to help
us evaluate our systems to see if they were working efficiently or if we need to upgrade or repair. They
have proposed a major upgrade which will require the county to find funding for these items. In the short
term they have proposed to do the following items to help our existing system to work to it potential.
1)Cleaning of chilled water system strainers and their screens, and replacing the entire strainer as necessary.
2) Internal inspection and cleaning of Chilled Water control valves.
3) Pressure flushing of Chilled water coils.
4) Water balancing of chilled water system.
5) Air balancing of Admin area air handling system.

RECOMMENDATION:
Recommend Boards approval for Chair to sign agreement.

Return one copy.
