Kittitas County <br />Solid Waste <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />4/19/2016 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Request Boards approval for Chair to sign a Professional service agreement with McKinstry to preform <br />Maintenance on the HVAC system to improve air quality in the Jail and Administration area of the <br />correction facility. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Over the past two years we have been working to find a solution to the increasing temperatures in the <br />Administration side of the Correction Facility. The County went out for a Energy Service company to help <br />us evaluate our systems to see if they were working efficiently or if we need to upgrade or repair. They <br />have proposed a major upgrade which will require the county to find funding for these items. In the short <br />term they have proposed to do the following items to help our existing system to work to it potential. <br /> <br />1)Cleaning of chilled water system strainers and their screens, and replacing the entire strainer as necessary. <br />2) Internal inspection and cleaning of Chilled Water control valves. <br />3) Pressure flushing of Chilled water coils. <br />4) Water balancing of chilled water system. <br />5) Air balancing of Admin area air handling system. <br /> <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />Commissioners, Sheriff, Maintenance <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend Boards approval for Chair to sign agreement. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />Return one copy. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Patti Johnson <br />
