Kittitas County <br />Solid Waste <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />4/5/2016 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Request Boards signature on the Professional Service Agreement with HWA GeoScience Inc. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Kittitas County Solid Waste Manages the Ryegrass facility which consist of a closed municipal solid waste <br />landfill and a limited purpose landfill. <br /> <br />Under WAC 173.350 the County is required to do ground water monitoring of both landfill area and <br />background ground water monitoring. In addition the regulations require annual gas monitoring of the <br />closed landfill. <br /> <br />HWA GeoSciences has worked at the site developing the monitoring plan and providing testing services. <br />HWA GeoSciences has maintained our testing data and updating of the Department of Ecology data base. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />Prosecutors office and HWA GeoSciences Inc. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend Boards signature on the Professional Service agreement with HWA GeoSciences. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Patti Johnson <br />
