AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: April 5, 2016
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to set a public hearing on April 19, 2016 to consider amendments to the
Countywide Planning Policies as recommended by the Council of Governments.
BACKGROUND: The Council of Governments has been working on amendments to the Countywide
Planning Policies. On March 16, 2016 the Council of Governments recommended the
amended Countywide Planning Policies be forwarded to the Board of County
Commissioners for approval.
The Countywide Planning Policy amendments include reorganization based on the 14
statewide planning goals in the Growth Management Act. Amendments to the
policies include input from Council of Government representatives and county and
city staff based on feasibility of implementation and requirements of the Growth
Management Act.

ATTACHMENTS: Proposed update to Countywide Planning Policies

RECOMMENDATION: CDS interim Director recommends to the Board of County Commissioners to
approve setting of a public hearing to consider the updated Countywide Planning
Policies.
HANLDING: Presentation to the Board by Kittitas County Community Development Services.
