ACTION REQUESTED: Making New Noise Ordinance Effective and Directing Amendment to
County Code
BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners passed Ordinance
2016-02, amending the county noise regulations, on February 2, 2016.
Said proposed noise ordinance was sent to the Department of Ecology
for review pursuant to RCW 70.107.060(3) and WAC 173-60-110(2).
A letter from the Department of Ecology, dated March 17, 2016, was
received expressing no concern with the County’s proposed noise
regulations, a true and correct copy of which is attached hereto as
“Exhibit A” and incorporated herein by this reference.
INTERACTION: The Prosecutor’s office has prepared, reviewed and signed the
proposed ordinance. The Prosecutor did not suggest further revisions
to the document.
RECOMMENDATION: Make new noise ordinance effect and direct amendment to
Chapter 9.45 KCC Noise Control.
