AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: March 15, 2016
ACTION REQUESTED: Board approval of the necessary amendments to the Kittitas County Code and
Kittitas County Comprehensive Plan to reflect the Washington State Department
of Ecology approved Shoreline Master Program for Kittitas County.
BACKGROUND: In a February 22, 2016 letter the Washington State Department of Ecology issued
final approval of Kittitas County’s Shoreline Master Program, making the updated
Shoreline Master Program effective on March 7, 2016. This ordinance includes all
the Shoreline Master Program changes agreed to by Kittitas County and the
Washington State Department of Ecology through the conditional approval process.
This ordinance also includes the necessary changes to Kittitas County Code and the
Kittitas County Comprehensive Plan to reflect the updated Shoreline Master Program
which became effective on March 7, 2016.

RECOMMENDATION: CDS Planning Official recommends to the Board of County Commissioners to
approve the necessary amendments to the Kittitas County Code and Kittitas County
Comprehensive Plan.
