Re: Gran FondoSpecial Event Permit
Dear Mrs. Bucholz:
Upon review of the above permit application, I have the following comments/requirements;
An event permit is not required from the Fire Marshal's Office for this event.
After review of the event permit, I have found no life safety/fire code issues that need to be
addressed.
The intent of the International Fire Code is to provide a reasonable level of life safety and property
protection from the hazards of fire, explosion or dangerous conditions. The requirements listed above
offer a reasonable level of fire and life safety protection for this project. Any questions or concerns
regarding fire service features or the comments listed above may be directed to the Kittitas County
Fire Marshal's Office at (509) 962-7000.
Sincerely,
Brenda Larsen

FROM: Road Forman (Ryan Berge)
DATE: 3/10/16
SUBJECT: Gran Fondo Ellensburg
I have reviewed all of the information regarding the Gran Fondo Ellensburg bicycle ride
that is scheduled for June 12th 2016. 1 do not foresee any problems on our part that
could arise. I would like to see flaggers at all of the busy intersection along with proper
signage for the safety of the riders and the traveling public. Also just to clarify all of the
traffic signing for the ride, flaggers, and advertising for the closure will be the
responsibility of the event crew.
recommend approving this event based on the following criteria:
1) Local advertisement in the Daily Record, Radio, and physical posting two
weeks in advance to inform the traveling public of the upcoming event in
order to give them the choice to plan a different route during this time
period.
