Action Requested:
Request to sign Interlocal Agreement Amendment A between the County and Kittitas County Conservation
District and sign associated Resolution
Background:
On October 30, 2013, the Fire Marshal’s Office submitted a grant application to Washington State Emergency
Management Division for funding from FEMA for fuels reduction projects in High/Extreme Hazard areas of the
county.
On January 17, 2014, Tim Cook provided the county with the information that the grant had been selected by
FEMA for further review.
On March 11, 2014, the County was informed that our grant had been approved by FEMA and that an
Environmental Determination was to be required prior to funding. The Environmental Determination was
finalized in November, 2014.
On, December 14, 2015, Brenda Larsen submitted the Contract Amendment A request to extend the contract. The
Washington State Military Department and FEMA has approved the extension to January 9, 2017.
These funds are passed through to the Conservation District.
