AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: February 16, 2016
ACTION REQUESTED: Schedule a public hearing on March 1, 2016 to consider
updating the Kittitas County Code Chapter 10.12.010 Stops
and Yields designated for the Hyak Drive East and
Snoqualmie Drive intersection.
BACKGROUND: The intersection of Hyak Drive East and Snoqualmie Drive
had 2 stop signs removed in December, 2016: one stop
sign on each side of Hyak Drive where it meets
Snoqualmie Drive. Residents of the area have requested
the replacement of the stop signs on each side of Hyak
Drive, stating safety reasons in the winter season and
school bus safety. The Interim County Engineer agrees that
the replacement of both of the stop signs would be in the
best interests of the public.
RECOMMENDATION: Set a public hearing to consider replacing the stop signs on
Hyak Drive East on either side of the Snoqualmie Drive
intersection.
HANDLING: Return one signed copy of Notice of Public Hearing to
Public Works
