KITTITAS COUNTY
Board of County Commissioners
AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: February 16, 2016
ACTION REQUESTED: Codification of Amended KCC Chapter 3.22 Admissions Tax
BACKGROUND: On January 19, 2016, at a public hearing at 2:00 p.m., after due
notice, the Board of County Commissioners adopted an admissions
tax. To codify that, and hence give the public notice of it, as well as
to direct the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners to publish
the same in a paper of general circulation, as required by RCW
36.38.030, so also to give appropriate public notice, it is suggested
that the Board codify the Admissions tax as presented herein. Kittitas
County formerly (until 2001, when it was repealed) had an admission
tax that was codified in Ch. 3.22 KCC. It would be clearest to the
public to repopulate that chapter with the current tax provisions.
Hence, the proposed codification is numbered as sections of Ch. 3.22
KCC.
INTERACTION: The Prosecutor’s office has prepared, reviewed and signed the
proposed resolution. The Prosecutor did not suggest further revisions
to the document.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve KCC Ch. 3.22 – ADMISSIONS TAX.
HANDLING: Original – Clerk of the Board
Copy – Auditor
Copy – Prosecutor
ATTACHMENTS: Ordinance No. 2016-___: Ordinance Amending Ch. 3.22 Kittitas
County Code to Impose an Admissions Tax
