AGENDA DATE: February 2, 2016
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to set a public hearing for placing a ban on fireworks on a year by year basis when certain criteria has been met.
BACKGROUND: A committee was formed in August of 2015, to identify and create the criteria necessary for when to determine whether a ban on fireworks could be implemented. The committee
consisted of a fireworks retailer, a community member, a member of the Prosecutor’s Office, a member of the Sheriff’s Office and several Fire Chiefs or their delegates.
INTERACTION: The Fireworks Committee and County Commissioner Gary Berndt
RECOMMENDATION: Set Public Hearing for Tuesday, February 16, 2016.
