AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: February 2, 2016
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve Columbia Ford & Corwin Ford extended
warranty and extended maintenance plans for Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office patrol
vehicles.
BACKGROUND: This fall the Sheriff’s Office researched cost saving measures to
reduce repair and maintenance expenditures for our fleet of patrol vehicles. This option
of purchasing extended bumper to bumper warranty and extended maintenance plans will
in fact save the county money over the life expectancy of the vehicle. These plans cover
all maintenance and repairs, excluding tires and collisions. We look forward to
proactively tracking and documenting these savings.
INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has reviewed and
approved.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve Columbia Ford & Corwin Ford extended
warranty and extended maintenance plans for Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office patrol
vehicles.
HANDLING: BOCC to return signed originals to Sheriff Office for obtaining signatures
from Ford. Upon receipt the Sheriff’s Office will return originals to BOCC.
