AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: February 2, 2016
ACTION REQUESTED: Approve a Notice of Call for Bids to Serve as the Official
County Newspaper for the period beginning July 1, 2016
through June 30, 2017.
BACKGROUND: According to RCW 36.72.075 “at the first April meeting of the
County legislative authority, they shall award a contract to a legal
newspaper qualified under the section, to serve as the Official
County Newspaper, for the term beginning one year on the first
day of July following. When there are two or more legal
newspapers qualified under the provisions, the County shall
advertise at least five weeks before the meeting at which the bid is
awarded”.
INTERACTION: In accordance with RCW 36.72.075 an advertisement of the
opportunity to bid shall be mailed to all qualified legal newspapers
and shall be published once in the Official County Newspaper.
The Daily Record is currently the Official County Newspaper
through June 30, 2016.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve a Notice of Call for Bids to Serve as the Official County
Newspaper; to authorize the Clerk to publish said notice and to
send a copy of the Notice of Call for Bids to the Daily Record and
the Northern Kittitas County Tribune. Bids shall be accepted until
March 25, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the Commissioners office at
which time they will be opened and read aloud.
HANDLING: BOCC Staff to publish & post on legal notice board.
BOCC Staff to send a copy of the notice to the Daily Record & the
Northern Kittitas County Tribune.
