KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />STAFF REPORT <br />SESSION DATE: January 19, 2016 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Sign the Resolution Imposing a Load Limit on <br />Manastash Bridge No. 76131 <br />BACKGROUND: During 2015 bridge inspection of Manastash <br />Bridge No. 76131, staff observed significant <br />deterioration of several concrete girders. <br />Staff requested a structural revaluation from <br />Sargent Engineers, Inc. (Public Works on call <br />structural engineering firm). The <br />recommendation is for setting a single vehicle <br />load limit on the bridge of 22 gross tons. <br />Once the load limit is set by resolution and <br />advertised at least once in a newspaper of <br />general circulation in the county, and signs <br />posted noticing of the load limit, any person <br />violating such resolution shall be guilty of a <br />misdemeanor (RCW 36.75.270). <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Motion to approve and sign the Resolution. <br />HANDLING: Return (2) originals to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
