Approve a Resolution to Award the bid to
furnish Snow & Ice Control Products for 2016.
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works went out to bid for
the furnishing of specific snow & ice products
in accordance with specifications. Bid packets
were sent out to businesses in the area that
provide these products.
Bids were opened on December 17, 2015, at
2:00 p.m. Five (5) bids were received.
INTERACTION:
Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve a Resolution to Award the bid
to furnish Snow & Ice Control Products for
2016.
HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works

RESOLUTION NO. 2016 -
RESOLUTION TO AWARD THE BID TO FURNISH SNOW & ICE CONTROL
PRODUCTS FOR 2016 AND AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO
SIGN CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS: A Notice of Call for Bids was approved and signed on December 1, 2015, to
furnish Snow & Ice Control Products for 2016; and
WHEREAS: Sealed bids were opened on December 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the Kittitas
County Public Works and five (5) bids were received; and
WHEREAS: The Public Works Department recommends that the responsible bid of
Envirotech Services Inc. for Item #1 — Corrosion Inhibited Liquid Magnesium
Chloride and Item #3 — Corrosion Inhibited Solid Sodium Chloride; and the
responsible bid of Salt Distributors, Inc. for Item #4 — Non -Corrosion Inhibited
Solid Sodium Chloride be accepted for Snow & Ice Control Products for 2016;
and
WHEREAS: Item #2 received no bids;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best
interest of the public, does hereby award the bid for 2016 Snow & Ice Control Products to
Envirotech Services Inc. for Item #1 — Corrosion Inhibited Liquid Magnesium Chloride and Item
#3 — Corrosion Inhibited Solid Sodium Chloride; and the responsible bid of Salt Distributors, Inc.
for Item #4 — Non -Corrosion Inhibited Solid Sodium Chloride be accepted for Snow & Ice
Control Products for 2016, upon such terms and conditions as specified in the Proposal
submitted by said bidder(s).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works is authorized to sign the
contract documents upon such terms and conditions specified in the Proposal submitted by said
bidder(s).
