ACTION REQUESTED: Request for Chair to sign correspondence letter in response to Ecology’s
conditional SMP approval
BACKGROUND: Staff requests that the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners sign a
correspondence letter in response to the Department of Ecology’s conditional
approval letter dated December 8, 2015. The correspondence letter outlines the
County’s response to Ecology’s recommended and required changes to the County’s
Shoreline Master Program.
According to WAC 173-26-120(7)(b) within 30 days of Ecology’s conditional
approval letter the County may agree to the proposed changes or submit an
alternative proposal. The County has agreed to all of Ecology’s required changes, 16
of 21 recommended changes, and proposed alternative language for one
recommended change.

ATTACHMENTS: Correspondence letter in response to the Department of Ecology’s conditional
Shoreline Master Program approval letter.

Chair sign the correspondence letter.
