KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />PUBLIC HEARING STAFF REPORT <br />HEARING DATE: October 5, 2010 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Continue a Public Hearing for the Six -Year Transportation <br />Improvement Plan for the years 2011-2016 and the Annual <br />Construction Program for 2011. <br />BACKGROUND: Public Works revised the 2011-2016 Six Year Transportation <br />Improvement Plan and documentation for this plan as requested at <br />the September 21, 2010 Board of County Commissioners public hearing. <br />Public Works is requesting that the Board consider the proposed <br />change to add the Yakima River Canyon Scenic Byway - SR 823 <br />project submitted by KEEN, to clarify road levy funding <br />assumptions will be based on a conservative estimate but any <br />shifting of these funds to general fund will not exceed $500,000, <br />and to add the strategy that encourages off-street parking for <br />recreational users. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Six -Year Transportation Improvement Plan and the <br />Annual Construction Program. <br />ATTACHEMENTS: 1. 2011 Annual Construction Program and 2011-2016 Six Year <br />Transportation Improvement Plan including: <br />a.
