KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: October 05, 2010 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve and sign the County Road Project for Teanaway and <br />North Fork Teanaway Roads safety improvement project. <br />BACKGROUND: The project will improve the entire lengths of Teanaway and North <br />Fork Teanaway Roads. The proposed reconstruction will consist <br />of road overlay, bridge and culvert replacement and roadside safety <br />improvements. Therefore, the need for annual maintenance will be <br />reduced. The new road will also provide additional stability for <br />anticipated traffic. <br />The project is described on the 2010 annual construction plan. <br />Grant funds are available from Federal Highway Administration. <br />Kittitas County portion of the funding will not exceed $500,000 <br />using in-kind services. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Board of County Commissioners to approve and sign the CRP <br />form for the Teanaway and North Fork Teanaway Roads safety <br />improvement project. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: CRP form for Board approval. <br />LEAD STAFF: Douglas D'Hondt <br />County Engineer <br />
