Kittitas County <br />Human Resources <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />2/16/2010 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH AFSCME LOCAL 792 <br />(ROAD UNION) <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />AFSCME Local 792 represents the interests of the road maintenance, survey/inspection, and mechanic <br />personnel employed by the Kittitas County Department of Public Works, and the Ryegrass Facility <br />Attendant employed by the Kittitas County Solid Waste Department. The previous Collective Bargaining <br />Agreement expired 12/31/09. <br /> <br />Representation for Local 792 and representation for Kittitas County have reached a point of agreement on a <br />continuing contract. <br /> <br />The members of Local 792 have voted to accept the proposed contract language. <br /> <br />The County’s Labor Attorney has approved the contract language. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />Human Resource Staff <br />Local 792 Representatives/AFSCME <br />Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners <br />Rocky Jackson, Menke Jackson Beyer Ehlis & Harper <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Human Resource Department recommends Board approval and signature of the attached agreement. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />Return 2 original(s) to HR <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Lisa Young <br />
