Kittitas County <br />Auditor <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />1/19/2010 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Request to amend the Resolution for the Grant Application Guidelines and Instruction used by the Homeless <br />and Affordable Housing Committee to make recommendations on the dispersal of funds from the County <br />Homeless 2163 account. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The original Guidelines were developed by the Committee and approved by the BOCC in a Resolution dated <br />May 19, 2009. Upon the use of the guidelines to make grant recommendations to the Kittitas County Board <br />of Commissioners in August 2009, the Committee agreed that language changes were needed for <br />clarification. Those are reflected in the accompanying document. <br />The Committee also recommends that two grant periods per year be implemented (assuming available <br />funding), one in February of each year and one in August of each year. This timeline would give county <br />agencies more access to the funds for projects that occur throughout the year. <br /> <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />The Prosecutor’s office reviewed and approved the recommended changes to the Guidelines document as <br />well as the Resolution to amend the existing Guidelines. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Kittitas County Homeless and Affordable Housing Committee recommends adoption of the Resolution <br />to amend the Homeless Grant Application Guidelines and Instructions. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />Clerk of the Board send notice of the approval to the Kittitas County Auditor’s Office and the Homeless and <br />Affordable Housing Committee. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Judy Pless <br />
