RESOLUTION NO. 2017 -_______
RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A HEALTH DEPARTMENT FUND BALANCE
POLICY
WHEREAS, Kittitas County, through the Kittitas County Public Health Department (KCPHD),
is charged with the preservation, promotion, and improvement of health in the
County; and
WHEREAS, the preservation, promotion, and improvement of health includes having and
following a policy regarding fund balances; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this policy to establish guidelines and a process for maintaining the
four main pieces of KCPHD’s fund balance: Operating Expenses (OPEX) Reserve,
Tuberculosis, Capital Assets, and Unassigned, which ensures accountability and
the ability to cover current and future department needs.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas
County, Washington, hereby approves the fund balance policy attached hereto as Exhibit “A.”
