This year’s docket <br />does not include any Comprehensive Plan amendments. This staff report summarizes each proposed <br />Kittitas County Code amendment and includes relevant documentation and proposed policy for your <br />consideration. <br /> <br />The record for each proposed docket item was presented to the Kittitas County Planning Commission on <br />November 28, 2017. All items were heard and recommendations were made for each item. No members <br />of the public were present for the public hearing. No written comment or testimony was received for any <br />of the items. A summary of the Planning Commission’s recommendation is included below for each <br />item. <br /> <br />The public has had access to the proposed docket items at the Kittitas County Community Development <br />Services Comprehensive Plan web page, One <br />printed copy has also been available for viewing at the Community Development Services front desk at: <br /> <br />Community Development Services <br />411 North Ruby Street, Suite 2 <br />Ellensburg WA 98926 <br /> <br />There are eight (8) items being considered for amendment, all within the Kittitas County Code. In <br />summary, the proposed amendments include: <br /> <br />1. Docket Item 1 – This item was recommended by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). <br />The amendment would require an event permit for any event where more than 100 people are <br />expected to attend, and where a charge or contribution is required for admission or access. An <br />admissions tax may be levied or imposed in accordance with KCC 3.22. The amendment also <br />includes provisions for limiting admissions where the size of the crowd exceeds the applicant’s <br />estimated crowd size, and provisions for indemnity agreement and insurance. <br /> <br />Planning Commission Recommendation <br />The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of this item, with an amendment <br />to the language so that an admissions tax “shall” be levied or imposed rather than “may.”
