Kittitas County <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br /> <br />Agenda Date: <br />December 5, 2017 <br /> <br />Action Requested: <br /> Request the Board approve and sign the Designation of Applicant’s Agent Resolution <br />designating the authorized representative and alternate for signing documents for the Fire <br />Management Assistance Grant for Jolly Mountain Fire and corresponding letter signed by the <br />Chairman, Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br />On September 2 the Board of County Commissioners signed a Declaration of Emergency, per <br />Resolution 2017-143. Kittitas County is eligible to seek reimbursement from Washington State <br />Military Department. As a requirement the Board of County Commissioners must signed the <br />following documents in order of <br /> <br />1. State Fire Management Assistance Application <br />2. Resolution for Designation of Applicant’s Agent with corresponding letter signed by <br />Chairman <br />3. Acknowledge County Auditor’s signature on the Fire Management Assistance Grant <br />Agreement #D17-1016 with a start date of 09-02-2017 and end date 09-02-2020, with the <br />amount to be determined, based upon approved project worksheets. <br /> Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) declaration FEMA 5200-FM- <br />WA, (Jolly Mountain Fire): To provide funds to the SUBRECIPIENT for the <br />reimbursement of eligible fire management assistance costs and <br />allowable grant administration costs as approved by the Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency in project worksheets describing eligible <br />scopes of work and associated funding. The DEPARTMENT is the <br />Recipient and Pass-through Entity of the FEMA-State Agreement and <br />associated declaration FEMA 5200-FM-WA, which is incorporated by <br />reference, and has made a subaward of Federal award funds to the <br />SUBRECIPIENT pursuant to this Agreement. The SUBRECIPIENT is <br />accountable to the DEPARTMENT for use of Federal award funds <br />provided under this Agreement. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />The Board approve and sign the Designation of Applicant’s Agent Resolution designating the <br />authorized representative and alternate for signing documents for the Fire Management <br />Assistance Grant for Jolly Mountain Fire and corresponding letter signed by the Chairman, Board <br />of County Commissioners <br /> <br />Interaction <br />Darren Higashiyama, Commander Sheriff’s Office <br /> <br />Handling <br />Signed documents return to Judy. <br /> <br />Lead Staff <br />Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Manager
