ACTION REQUESTED: Approve the Resolution Rejecting 2018 Public Works
Department bids for Petroleum and Lubricants and direct
staff re -advertise for 2018 oil supplies
BACKGROUND: Public Works solicited for Petroleum and Lubricant
supplies on 10/19/2017 and on 10/26/2017. Four suppliers
responded. During bid opening, staff identified errors on
staff bid documents creating errors on supplier bids.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Reject all 2018 Petroleum and Lubricant bids and re -
advertise for same with corrected bid documents.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works

RESOLUTION NO. 2017 -
TITLE: Reject All Bids Furnishing Petroleum and Lubricant Products for the Public Works
Department 2018
WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works solicited sealed bids from petroleum and
lubricant suppliers (10/19/2017; 10/26/2017); and
WHEREAS: Four responders submitted sealed bids for Public Works review; and
WHEREAS: Public Works created errors contained within its bidding packages resulting in
improper responses from submitters;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the
best interest of the public, does hereby reject all Petroleum and Lubricant Product responders and
directs Public Works to correct bid document errors and re -advertise for petroleum and lubricant
projects — 2018.
