Approve a Resolution to Award the bid to
furnish Snow & Ice Control Products for 2018.
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works went out to bid for
the furnishing of specific snow & ice products
in accordance with specifications. Bid packets
were sent out to businesses in the area that
provide these products.
Bids were opened on November 2, 2017, at
2:00 p.m. Six (6) bids were received.
INTERACTION:
Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve a Resolution to Award the bid
to furnish Snow & Ice Control Products for
2018.
HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works

RESOLUTION NO. 2017 -
RESOLUTION TO AWARD THE BID TO FURNISH SNOW & ICE CONTROL
PRODUCTS FOR 2018 AND AUTHORIZE THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO
SIGN CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS: A Notice of Call for Bids was approved and signed on October 17, 2017, to
furnish Snow & Ice Control Products for 2018; and
WHEREAS: Sealed bids were opened on November 2, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Kittitas
County Public Works and six (6) bids were received; and
WHEREAS: The Public Works Department recommends that the responsible bid of
Envirotech Services Inc. for Item #1 — Corrosion Inhibited Liquid Magnesium
Chloride; for Item #2 — Corrosion Inhibited Calcium Chloride and for Item #5 —
RoadSaver — Soil Stabilizer; the responsible bid of Salt Distributors, Inc. for Item
#3 — Corrosion Inhibited Solid Sodium Chloride; and the responsible bid of
Pioneer Commodities for Item #4 — Non -Corrosion Inhibited Solid Sodium
Chloride; be accepted for Snow & Ice Control Products for 2018; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the best
interest of the public, does hereby award the bid for 2018 Snow & Ice Control Products to
Envirotech Services Inc. for Item #1 — Corrosion Inhibited Liquid Magnesium Chloride; for Item
#2 — Corrosion Inhibited Calcium Chloride and for Item #5 — RoadSaver — Soil Stabilizer; the
responsible bid of Salt Distributors, Inc. for Item #3 — Corrosion Inhibited Solid Sodium Chloride;
and the responsible bid of Pioneer Commodities for Item #4 — Non -Corrosion Inhibited Solid
Sodium Chloride, upon such terms and conditions as specified in the Proposal submitted by
said bidder(s).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works is authorized to sign the
contract documents upon such terms and conditions specified in the Proposal submitted by said
bidder(s).
