<br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />OCTOBER 2017 <br />“National Disability Employment Awareness Month” <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS: People with disabilities live and work in Kittitas County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Approximately 5,500 members of our County experience a disability; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: People with disabilities contribute to the economic, social, and cultural vitality of the Kittitas <br />County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Workplaces welcoming of the talents of all people, including people with disabilities, are a critical <br />part of our efforts to build an inclusive community and strong economy; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: In this spirit, The Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas County recognizes October 2017 as <br />“National Disability Employment Awareness Month” to raise awareness about disability <br />employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of people with disabilities to <br />our community and workforce and affirm Kittitas County’s commitment to an inclusive <br />community; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE: the Board of Commissioners of Kittitas County do hereby Proclaim October 2017 as <br />“National Disability Employment Awareness Month” and in so doing, call upon employers, <br />schools and other community organizations in the County to observe this month and strive to <br />ensure welcoming inclusive workplaces, and to advance the important message that people with <br />disabilities are equal to the task throughout the year. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 17th day of October, 2017. <br />THE KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br /> <br /> Paul Jewell, Chairman <br /> <br /> <br /> Laura Osiadacz, Vice-Chairman <br /> <br /> <br /> Obie O’Brien, Commissioner <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board
