KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />October 17, 2017 <br />Approve the Resolution to Ratify the Chair's <br />Signature on Federal Emergency Management <br />Agency Annual Community Rating System <br />Report Documents <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County is enrolled in the Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) <br />Community Rating System (CRS). <br />This federal program lowers flood insurance <br />rate premiums for all county residents <br />receiving federal floodplain insurance. <br />The County is required to report annual <br />activities to FEMA consistent with maintaining <br />its CRS rating. <br />FEMA required the Chair's signature before <br />October 15, 2017, as staff prepared appropriate <br />enabling documentation. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Public Works - Flood Control Zone District <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Motion to approve the Resolution to Ratify the <br />Chair's Signature on Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency Annual Community <br />Rating System Report Documents <br />HANDLING: <br />Return a copy of the Resolution to Public <br />Works, Flood Control Zone District <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Public Works Director <br />
