Approve the Resolution to Ratify the Chair's
Signature on Federal Emergency Management
Agency Annual Community Rating System
Report Documents
BACKGROUND: Kittitas County is enrolled in the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Community Rating System (CRS).
This federal program lowers flood insurance
rate premiums for all county residents
receiving federal floodplain insurance.
The County is required to report annual
activities to FEMA consistent with maintaining
its CRS rating.
FEMA required the Chair's signature before
October 15, 2017, as staff prepared appropriate
enabling documentation.

RESOLUTION NO. 2017 -
RATIFY THE CHAIR'S SIGNATURE ON FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
AGENCY ANNUAL COMMUNITY RATING SYSTEM REPORT DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS: Kittitas County is enrolled in the Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA) Community Rating System (CRS); and
WHEREAS: This federal program lowers flood rate insurance premiums for all county
residents receiving federal floodplain insurance; and
WHEREAS: The County is required to report annual activities to FEMA consistent with
maintaining its CRS rating; and
WHEREAS: FEMA required the Chair's signature by October 15, 2017 as staff prepared
appropriate enabling documentation;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the
best interest of the public, does hereby ratify the Chair's signature before October 15, 2017
FEMA CRS reporting documents.
