AGENDA DATE: September 5, 2017
ACTION REQUESTED: Acknowledge Resolution No. 2017-143 – Declaration of
Emergency – Jolly Mountain Fire
BACKGROUND: At 9:00 a.m. on August 29, 2017 the Board of County
Commissioners held an Emergency Special Meeting which
had been requested by the Sheriff’s Department relating to
the Jolly Mountain Fire.
INTERACTION: Upon receiving a status report on the Jolly Mountain Fire
and recommendation from the Sheriff’s Department, the
Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution No.
2017-143, Declaring an Emergency which allows for
entering into contracts and incur obligations necessary to
combat such emergency to protect the health and safety of
persons and property, and to provide emergency assistance
to the victims of disaster.
RECOMMENDATION: Formally acknowledge Resolution No. 2017-143, which
was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on
August 29, 2017 during an Emergency Special Meeting.
