KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: September 5, 2017 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Acknowledge Resolution No. 2017-143 – Declaration of <br />Emergency – Jolly Mountain Fire <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: At 9:00 a.m. on August 29, 2017 the Board of County <br />Commissioners held an Emergency Special Meeting which <br />had been requested by the Sheriff’s Department relating to <br />the Jolly Mountain Fire. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Upon receiving a status report on the Jolly Mountain Fire <br />and recommendation from the Sheriff’s Department, the <br />Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution No. <br />2017-143, Declaring an Emergency which allows for <br />entering into contracts and incur obligations necessary to <br />combat such emergency to protect the health and safety of <br />persons and property, and to provide emergency assistance <br />to the victims of disaster. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Formally acknowledge Resolution No. 2017-143, which <br />was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on <br />August 29, 2017 during an Emergency Special Meeting. <br /> <br />HANDLING: N/A <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution No. 2017-143 <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board <br /> <br />
