KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA SESSION DATE: September 5, 2017 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution authorizing <br />the Chair's signature on the Project Agreement <br />#1917-01 for Rural Arterial Trust Account <br />Funds from the County Road Administration <br />Board for the Manastash Road Bridge <br />Replacement Project <br />BACKGROUND: The Manastash Road Bridge project will <br />replace the deteriorated bridge over Manastash <br />Creek at MP 10.60. This bridge is currently <br />load restricted and is the only access in and out <br />for many residents and commercial operations. <br />Public Works submitted a Project Prospectus <br />requesting Rural Arterial Program funds from <br />the County Road Administration Board <br />(CRAB) for the replacement of said bridge in <br />the amount of $1,958,000. <br />Public Works was notified by CRAB on August <br />17, 2017 that the design funding necessary for <br />the project had been awarded in the amount of <br />$315,480. <br />CRAB has provided Public Works with the <br />contract required to authorize the <br />reimbursement of these funds. <br />Public Works has also submitted a grant <br />application to Federal Highways requesting <br />BRAC funding for the bridge replacement. If <br />successful, the combination of these RATA <br />funds and potential BRAC funds would <br />eliminate any County funding contribution for <br />the project. <br />
