AGENDA DATE: October 4, 2016
ACTION REQUESTED: Deny Claim of Andrea Eklund.
BACKGROUND: The claimant, Andrea Eklund (“Ms. Eklund”) claims damages of
$626.61 to repair a cracked auto window allegedly caused by a piece
of gravel on the road that was kicked into the air by another vehicle.
There is no evidence any county vehicles or personnel were involved
in this. Ms. Eklund states the gravel was in the road as a result of
“chip seal” operations. Kittitas County Claim # 201707250047.
INTERACTION: As stated above, there is no evidence County vehicles or personnel
were involved in this incident. There is no evidence of any County
negligence related to this incident.
Public Works recommends denial of this claim. The Prosecutor’s
Office also recommends denial of this claim.
RECOMMENDATION: Deny Kittitas County Claim # 201707250047.
