AGENDA DATE: August 15, 2017
ACTION REQUESTED: Approve Resolution Creating Solar Facilities Citizen Advisory Committee and
Appointing Committee Members
BACKGROUND: On July 10, 2017, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners extended the current
moratorium on applications for solar projects that qualify and major alternative
energy systems, subject to a work plan that includes use of a citizen advisory
committee for developing standards and/or criteria for siting such facilities. The
County solicited applications from individuals interested in volunteering for the
committee, and the Board of Commissioners considered the applications at the
August 14, 2017 CDS Study Session. The attached resolution would create the Solar
Facilities Citizen Advisory Committee and appoint the members of the committee.
