ACTION REQUESTED:
Adopt a Resolution to Call for a Special Election to Determine if the City of Kittitas Should Be Annexed to
Kittitas County Fire District #2.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Kittitas has adopted and ordinance and Kittitas County Fire District #2 has adopted a resolution
to call for a Special Election to determine if the City of Kittitas should be annexed to Kittitas County Fire
District #2. It is the responsibility of the Board of County Commissioners to call for the Special Election as
requested by the City of Kittitas and Kittitas County Fire District #2 per statute. The Ordinance adopted by
the City of Kittitas and the Resolution adopted by the Kittitas Fire District #2 are attached.

City of Kittitas, Kittitas County Fire District #2, County Prosecuting Attorney and attorney for the City of
Kittitas
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a Resolution to Call for a Special Election to Determine if the City of Kittitas Should Be Annexed to
Kittitas County Fire District #2.
HANDLING:
This Resolution must be signed by the Commissioners and delivered to the County Auditor no later than 5
pm August 1st, the legal deadline for this issue to be on the November 7 General Election.
