AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: August 1, 2017
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution granting the Sheriff of
Kittitas County the authority to enter into extra duty employment contracts for deputy
sheriffs.
BACKGROUND: The Board of County Commissioners has the authority to make such
contracts as may be necessary to their corporate or administrative powers, and to do all
necessary acts in relation to the property of the County pursuant to RCW 36.01.010, and
whereas the Board has delegated to the County Sheriff specific authority regarding the
Board's authority to negotiate, enter into, or approve contracts for various obligations
with a value of less than $10,000 dollars as allowed by law.
INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has reviewed and
approved.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution approving the Sheriff of
Kittitas County's authority to enter into extra duty employment contracts for deputy
sheriffs.
HANDLING: Return one original to the Sheriff's Office.
