AGENDA DATE: July 18, 2017
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve Ordinance Extending Moratorium on Solar Projects that
Qualify as Major Alternative Energy Facilities
BACKGROUND: On July 10, 2017, the Board of Commissioners approved a six-month extension of
the moratorium on applications for solar projects that qualify as major alternative
energy facilities, and directed staff to prepare enabling documents. The ordinance
extending the moratorium is attached.
INTERACTION: CDS, Prosecuting Attorney, Board of County Commissioners
ATTACHMENTS: Ordinance extending moratorium for six months

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Board approve the ordinance extending the moratorium
for six months.
