AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: July 18, 2017
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an
Interlocal Agreement between Washington Traffic Safety Commission and the Kittitas
County Sheriff’s Office.
BACKGROUND: The Washington Traffic Safety Commission (WTSC) supports the
Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) program by providing funds for overtime work to
perform drug evaluation activities of registered DREs. The WTSC has agreed to fund
overtime for DREs who enter this partnership by virtue of a Memorandum of
Understanding for the period of July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2019.
INTERACTION: This Interlocal Agreement/Memorandum of Understanding was
reviewed and approved by the Kittitas County Prosecutor’s Office.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an
Interlocal Agreement between Washington Traffic Safety Commission and the Kittitas
County Sheriff’s Office.
HANDLING: Please send two originals back to the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office,
which will forward a fully executed original to the BOCC for its records once we receive
it back from the grantor.
