KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: June 20, 2017 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Consider the appointment of Monica Mersinger to <br />the Kittitas County Civil Service Commission <br />(KCCCC). <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Currently the Kittitas County Civil Service <br />Commission has one vacancy. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: On May 11, 2017 Staff received an application from <br />Monica Mersinger and on June 14, 2017 the BoCC <br />received a letter from Lisa Young, HR <br />Director/Interim Civil Service Examiner requesting <br />the Board consider appointing Ms. Mersinger to the <br />KCCCC for a 6 year term. She stated that the Civil <br />Service Commission was in support of the request <br />and had previously met to discuss the application. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Monica Mersinger to the Civil Service <br />Commission, effective immediately and expire in <br />June of 2021 (she will complete a former members <br />term) and then can request to be reappointed for a <br />full term. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Staff to notify Applicant, update County website <br />and notify Kittitas County Civil Service <br />Commission of the Boards decision. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Letter from Civil Service Commission. <br /> Application from Monica Mersinger. <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II
