AGENDA DATE: June 20, 2017
ACTION REQUESTED: Consider the appointment of Monica Mersinger to
the Kittitas County Civil Service Commission
(KCCCC).
BACKGROUND: Currently the Kittitas County Civil Service
Commission has one vacancy.
INTERACTION: On May 11, 2017 Staff received an application from
Monica Mersinger and on June 14, 2017 the BoCC
received a letter from Lisa Young, HR
Director/Interim Civil Service Examiner requesting
the Board consider appointing Ms. Mersinger to the
KCCCC for a 6 year term. She stated that the Civil
Service Commission was in support of the request
and had previously met to discuss the application.
RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Monica Mersinger to the Civil Service
Commission, effective immediately and expire in
June of 2021 (she will complete a former members
term) and then can request to be reappointed for a
full term.
HANDLING: Staff to notify Applicant, update County website
and notify Kittitas County Civil Service
Commission of the Boards decision.
