2017 Youth Program Support Fund Proposed Recipients for Kittitas County funds Proposal Basics: Use funds from Kittitas County to support youth programs/activities throughout the county. All organizations that sponsor youth (age 0-18) activities in Kittitas County were eligible to apply and any organization that received funds through the scholarship program over the last year and a half were solicited directly to apply. The proposal requested information about how the funds were to be used and the amount requested. Funds were limited to one-time expenditures that supported the program, such as special events/sports clinics, equipment, supplies, etc. A committee consisting of two HopeSource employees and one community member reviewed the proposals and made recommendations for awards. No committee members were formally associated with any of the organizations submitting proposals. Individual award amounts were capped at $500. Awards were based on the number of organizations applying and merits of the proposal, with priority given to activities that directly support at-risk youth. Applicants whose projects were not funded will be encouraged to have their particpants apply for our Youth Recreation Scholarships. Kittitas County Funds Available to be Awarded in 2017: $1,500 Proposed Grants to Organizations: · Cle Elum-Roslyn NFL Flag Football League: $500 to purchase more equipment (footballs, first aid kits, mouth guards, etc.) for growing league that now includes middle school students in Upper County · Wellspring Church Free Youth Disc Golf Tournament: $500 to purchase 50 quality golf discs to give participants in a tournament open to grades 6-12 at the new course at Irene Rinehart Park · City of Ellensburg: $500 to purchase equipment for youth sports programs (Tiny Tot soft basketballs and soccer balls; oversize training volleyballs; striper line marking machine for field play) (See scoring criteria chart on following page)
