KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: April 18, 2017 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve Claim of Rodney and Sharon Gilge. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The claimant, Rodney Gilge, (“Mr. Gilge”) claims a county employee <br />drove a county vehicle into the back of Mr. Gilge’s vehicle (2015 <br />Mercedes-Benz ML 350) at a red light on Canyon Road, Ellensburg. <br />The total amount of the claim is $3,935.66. Kittitas County Claim <br />#201703060010. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Washington Counties Risk Pool hired an adjuster to review the r epair <br />estimate provided by Mr. Gilge. The adjuster negotiated the repair <br />estimate down to $3,145.06. However, Mr. Gilge later submitted a <br />revised repair estimate in the amount of $3,935.66, due to what Mr. <br />Gilge described as “additional damage” found during the repair <br />process that was not accounted for in the original repair estimate. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Sheriff’s Office recommends approving Kittitas County Claim <br />#201703060010, in the amount of $3,935.66, conditioned on <br />receiving a signed release of all claims from Rodney and Sharon <br />Gilge. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Original – Clerk of the Board <br /> Copy – Auditor <br /> Copy – Prosecutor <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Claim of Rodney and Sharon Gilge <br /> Revised Repair Estimate <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Christopher Horner, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney <br /> Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office <br />
