KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: March 21, 2017 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Set a Public Hearing to consider an application to the <br />Department of Commerce for the Community <br />Development Block Grant Public Service Funds beginning <br />July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Department of Commerce notified Kittitas County and <br />HopeSource that there is a total of $84,503.00 available in <br />Community Development Block Grant funds to provide public <br />services that principally benefit low-and moderate-income persons <br />for the period July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. This amount <br />includes up to $3,500.00 for a County Administration fee. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: As part of the funding requirements the Board of County <br />Commissioners are to conduct a Public Hearing to inform citizens <br />of the availability of funds, eligible uses and receive comments on <br />proposed activities, particularly from low-and moderate-income <br />persons, as well as receive comments on the programs past <br />performance and use of their 2016 CDBG Public Service Grant <br />funds. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Set a Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at 2:00 <br />p.m. to consider public comments on the availability of funds and <br />eligible uses and proposed activities on the Community <br />Development Block Grant Public Service funds available to Kittitas <br />County and HopeSource. <br /> <br />HANDLING: 1 - Clerk of the Board <br /> 1 copy - HopeSource & Judy Pless <br /> 1 copy - BOCC Staff to publish & post on legal notice board. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Manager <br /> Susan K.
