KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF’S OFFICE <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: March 7, 2017 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge a Federal Pass-Through Grant <br />Pursuant to Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) Oil Spill Prevention, <br />Preparedness, and Response Equipment Grant Agreement for 2016-2017. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded federal <br />funding via a state pass-through grant to create an oil spill equipment cache. The <br />equipment in the cache will be used for oil spill prevention and preparedness. Some of <br />the items to be purchased will be distributed to several Kittitas County fire districts. <br />Because of the grant money being Federal in its origination, the County will be <br />responsible for federal grant management requirements relating to subgrantees. There is <br />no match requirement. None of the grant money will be used for wages or benefits. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: This interagency agreement was reviewed and approved by the <br />Kittitas County Prosecutor’s Office. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Acknowledge a Federal Pass-Through Grant <br />Pursuant to Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) Oil Spill Prevention, <br />Preparedness, and Response Equipment Grant Agreement for 2016-2017. <br /> <br />HANDLING: The BOCC will return one fully executed copy to KCSO for its records. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Commander Darren Higashiyama
