AGENDA DATE: March 7, 2017
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge a Federal Pass-Through Grant
Pursuant to Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) Oil Spill Prevention,
Preparedness, and Response Equipment Grant Agreement for 2016-2017.
BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded federal
funding via a state pass-through grant to create an oil spill equipment cache. The
equipment in the cache will be used for oil spill prevention and preparedness. Some of
the items to be purchased will be distributed to several Kittitas County fire districts.
Because of the grant money being Federal in its origination, the County will be
responsible for federal grant management requirements relating to subgrantees. There is
no match requirement. None of the grant money will be used for wages or benefits.
INTERACTION: This interagency agreement was reviewed and approved by the
Kittitas County Prosecutor’s Office.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Acknowledge a Federal Pass-Through Grant
Pursuant to Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) Oil Spill Prevention,
Preparedness, and Response Equipment Grant Agreement for 2016-2017.
HANDLING: The BOCC will return one fully executed copy to KCSO for its records.
