ACTION REQUESTED: Approve County Road Project for the Pedestrian Improvements
along No. 81 Road (Clerf Rd. to Aspen Estates)
BACKGROUND: During the Open Houses held for public comment regarding the
adoption of the 2017 Annual Construction Program and the 6 Year
Transportation Plan the need for pedestrian improvements along
No. 81 Road were identified.
Members of the City of Kittitas expressed the need for safe travel
for non -motorized transportation along No. 81 Road between Clerf
Road and Aspen Estates in order to allow access to the community
park.
During the budget adoption process the BOCC recommended
including the proposed project and adopted it as part of the 2017
budget. The project is formally included in the Annual
Construction Program for 2017.
Upon CRP approval the project will be designed in 2017 and
constructed in 2018. The project will be paid using county road
funds.
INTERACTION: Public Works
RECOMMENDATION: Board of County Commissioners to approve and sign the CRP
form for the Pedestrian Improvements at No. 81 Road (Clerf Rd. to
Aspen Estates) Project.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works

BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF KITTITAS COUNTY, STATE OF WASHINGTON, in the matter
of initiating a county road project designated as:
CRP NO: 275-17
JOB NO: RC1577-11
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the No. 81 Road from MP 0.00 to MP 0.53 be improved as follows:
Add additional width to the existing roadway in order to facilitate non -
motorized traffic from Clerf Road to Aspen Estates

This project is hereby declared to be a public necessity and the County Engineer is hereby ordered and authorized to report
and proceed thereon as by law provided. (RCW 36.75.050, 36.80.030, 36.80.070).
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that an appropriation from the officially adopted road fund budget and based on the Director of
Public Works' estimate, is hereby made in the amounts and for the purposes shown:
