KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: February 7h, 2017 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve County Road Project for the Pedestrian Improvements <br />along No. 81 Road (Clerf Rd. to Aspen Estates) <br />BACKGROUND: During the Open Houses held for public comment regarding the <br />adoption of the 2017 Annual Construction Program and the 6 Year <br />Transportation Plan the need for pedestrian improvements along <br />No. 81 Road were identified. <br />Members of the City of Kittitas expressed the need for safe travel <br />for non -motorized transportation along No. 81 Road between Clerf <br />Road and Aspen Estates in order to allow access to the community <br />park. <br />During the budget adoption process the BOCC recommended <br />including the proposed project and adopted it as part of the 2017 <br />budget. The project is formally included in the Annual <br />Construction Program for 2017. <br />Upon CRP approval the project will be designed in 2017 and <br />constructed in 2018. The project will be paid using county road <br />funds. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Board of County Commissioners to approve and sign the CRP <br />form for the Pedestrian Improvements at No. 81 Road (Clerf Rd. to <br />Aspen Estates) Project. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: CRP form for Board approval <br />LEAD STAFF: Lucas Huck <br />County Engineer <br />
