AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: February 7, 2017
ACTION REQUESTED: Consider the appointment of Ms. Maureen Rust to
the Kittitas County Library Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND: As of December 31, 2016 the Member At Large
position became vacant. On November 21, 2016
Staff received an application from Maureen Rust
expressing interest in volunteering as the Member
At Large position on the Kittitas County Library
Advisory Board.
INTERACTION: Staff received a letter on January 27, 2017 from
Jane Agar, City of Cle Elum Librarian asking the
Board of County Commissioners to consider
appointing Ms. Rust for the vacant Member At
Large Position. According to the Bylaws this
member of the Board will be appointed for a
staggered 3 year term and limited to 2 consecutive
terms.
RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Maureen Rust to the Kittitas County
Regional Library Advisory Board for the member
At Large position for a staggered 3 year term.
HANDLING: Staff to notify the applicant and the Chair of the
Library Advisory Board of the Commissioners
decision as well as update the County Website.
