For your consideration, I am enclosing my completed application to serve as
Member at Large for the Library Advisory Board. This position will be vacant as of
January 1, 2017.
My library experience is extensive and varied. Since receiving my MLIS in 2004, I
have worked in public, school, and academic libraries, and as a volunteer archivist. I
currently serve on two library advisory councils (Ellensburg School District, CWU
Brooks Library), and served on the Connecticut Library Consortium prior to
relocating to Ellensburg. I grew up in Ellensburg, graduating from high school here
in 1976, and have that familiarity with the community. And my current library
position is specific to outreach (on and off campus).
I have been attending the KCRLB meetings for the past year. This has enabled me to
become more familiar with the regional libraries and has led to some wonderful
collaborative projects, including One Book One County, programming events with
the Ellensburg Public Library, and distribution of free books throughout the
community through the Brooks Library FirstBooks participation.
