ACTION REQUESTED: Approve a Letter to Kittitas County Teachers Grades K-5
Re: National County Government Month
BACKGROUND: National County Government Month is celebrated in April
of each year. For many years now the Kittitas County
Commissioners office has held a coloring contest open to
all children in grades K-5. This year’s theme we have
chosen “Kindness Matters in Kittitas County”. Entries will
be judged on what most represents Kittitas County and the
theme. The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners will
award a season’s pass to three students from each class who
participates in the contest.
INTERACTION: The deadline to submit entries will be on Friday March 24,
2017. All entries will be displayed throughout the
Courthouse from March 31st through April 21st. At the
conclusion of National County Government Month the
Board of County Commissioners will go to the various
elementary schools and present awards to the students.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve a letter to Kittitas County teachers inviting their
students to participate in National County Government
Month.
