2026-08-03 MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />HR STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, 205 W 5TH AVE., ROOM 108, ELLENSBURG <br />Special Meeting <br /> <br />MONDAY 3:00 PM 8/03/2026 <br /> <br />Board Members Present: Brett Wachsmith, Laura Osiadacz <br />Others Present: Kady Porterfield, Sarah Keith, Jeanne Killgore <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 3:02 PM. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS (1 MINUTE TIME LIMIT) <br />None. <br />DISCUSSION/DECISION – KVEC STAFFING <br />Event Center Director Porterfield presented a request to hire a temporary Grounds Manager during in light of staff <br />absences and the upcoming Kittitas County Fair and Ellensburg Rodeo. The Board provided direction to move <br />forward with creating the temporary Grounds Manager position and moving the Event Center Project Specialist <br />into the role. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />Superior Court Administrator Keith advised the Board that the Superior Court intends to hire a Judge Pro Tem to <br />participate in Drug Court once per month. <br />The Board reviewed a letter from a citizen regarding ADA concerns in Lower District Court and the Courthouse. <br />The Board reviewed a draft response to the citizen’s letter.
