KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA SESSION DATE: June 16, 2026 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Notice of Call for Sealed <br />Bids and advertise for the Horizontal Curve Safety <br />Project, CRP 319-23. <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County was selected to receive funding <br />through the Highway Safety Improvement Program <br />(HSIP). The grant funding provides the County a <br />cost-effective approach to implement safety <br />improvements such as signing and delineation to <br />improve roadway corridors. <br />This Contract provides for the improvement of ten <br />(10) roadway segments countywide, including <br />installation of flexible guide posts to improve <br />delineation, and installation of improved signage. <br />The engineering and design for the project has been <br />performed by County staff. Construction is <br />expected to begin in September and take up to 60 <br />working days to complete. <br />This project is eligible for 100% reimbursement <br />through the HSIP Grant. The engineers estimated <br />range for the project is $430,000.00 to 480,000.00. <br />Bids are scheduled to be received on July 9th, at <br />1 Oam at the Public Works office. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Notice of Call for Sealed Bids and <br />Advertise as requested for the Horizontal Curve <br />Safety Project, CRP 319-23. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Call for Sealed Bids. <br />LEAD STAFF: Joshua Fredrickson, Public Works Director <br />
