<br /> <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />“Nellie Nicholls Day” <br />June 25, 2026 <br />WIAA 2B Track & Field – 400M Dash State Champion <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Nellie Nicholls is a student completing her senior year at Cle Elum-Roslyn High School <br />and has demonstrated exceptional leadership as a member of the school’s Track & Field <br />team; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Nellie earned 1st place at both the EWAC League and District 5 Championships, and <br />captured the WIAA 2B 400M Dash State Championship title on Saturday May 30, 2026, at <br />Eisenhower High School, in Yakima, Washington, with a winning time of 57.54 seconds; <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Nellie’s achievement reflects countless hours of hard work, determination, discipline, and <br />dedication to excellence in both academics and athletics; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: Nellie has represented her teammates, family, Cle Elum-Roslyn High School and the <br />citizens of Kittitas County with pride, integrity, and sportsmanship throughout her athletic <br />career; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners hereby <br />requests that the citizens of Kittitas County join them in celebrating and honoring Nellie for her <br />achievement and hereby proclaims June 25, 2026, as “Nellie Nicholls Day” in Kittitas County. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 16th day of June 2026. <br />THE KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br /> <br /> Cory Wright, Chairman <br /> <br /> <br /> Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner <br /> <br /> <br />Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board
