KITTITAS COUNTY <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br />AGENDA ITEM STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: June 2nd, 2026 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Set a Public Hearing on June 16t, 2026, at 2:00 pm <br />local time to Consider the enabling documents for the 2026-2046 <br />Comprehensive Plan Periodic update and Development <br />Regulations. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In 2025 Kittitas County started its Comprehensive Plan Periodic <br />Update and spent the last two years engaging the public, holding <br />open houses, public meetings, and Joint Planning Commission and <br />Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meetings. <br />The Planning Commission recommended approval to the BOCC <br />regarding the Comprehensive Plan & Easton Subarea Plan on <br />March 17d`, 2026, and the Development Regulations on May 12'', <br />2026. <br />On June 2nd, 2026, the BOCC will hold two hearings as part of the <br />2026-2046 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update, one for the <br />Comprehensive Plan & Easton Subarea Plan and a second hearing <br />for Development Regulations & Critical Areas. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set a Public Hearing for June 16th, at 2:00 pm local time to <br />Consider the adoption of the 2026-2046 Comprehensive Plan <br />Periodic update and Development Regulations enabling <br />documents. <br />HANDLING: Return one Notice of Public Hearing to Community Development <br />Services. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing <br />LEAD STAFF: Chad Bala, Director <br />
