<br /> <br /> <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />NO.: 2026- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE FUNDING FOR THE COUNTY JAIL FOR <br />USE OF OPIOID FUNDS RESULTING FROM THE SETTLEMENT CLAIMS <br />AGAINST PHARMACEUTICAL SUPPLY CHAIN PARTICIPANTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The proceeds generated from the settlement claims against pharmaceutical <br />supply chain participants are to be used for opioid abatement strategies <br />including co-occurring substance use disorder and mental health <br />conditions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas County, Washington <br />authorized funding the Kittitas County Jail in the amount of $134,824.64 <br />from date of execution through December of 2027, which is not included <br />in the request for proposal process shared with the City of Ellensburg. <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The Board of County Commissioners see the value and impact of the work <br />the Kittitas County Jail is doing with substance use disorder and mental <br />health, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the Kittitas County Jail will utilize the funding to support approved opioid <br />abatement strategies including treatment, medication assisted treatment, <br />case management, therapy, and training and education. <br /> <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners <br />authorize funding to the Kittitas County Jail to support mental health and substance use <br />disorder programs for those incarcerated in the Kittitas County Jail in the amount of <br />$134,824.64 from date of execution to December of 2027. There will be no rollover of <br />unspent funds. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ADOPTED this day of 2026.
